WebM&C ArticleBorn and raised into the family business, second generation singer, songwriter and pianist & pop star Lucy Walsh – daughter of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Joe Walsh (of Eagles, James Gang and solo renown) – has been signed to Island Records, it was announced by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group and Rob Stevenson, EVP, A&R, Island Def Jam Music Group. An Angeleno through and through, Lucy has completed ‘Lost in the Lights’ - her debut album, scheduled for fall release. The album’s advance track “Crash” is an essential L.A. title that even name-checks Hustle & Flow. Lucy Walsh co-wrote most of the tracks on ‘Lost in the Lights’ along with production and songwriting contributions from Tricky Stewart and label-mate Dream (whose credits include Rihanna’s “Umbrella”), JR Rotem (Rihanna’s “S.O.S.”), Lester Mendez (Shakira, Beyoncé), and Matthew Wilder (No Doubt). The album was mixed by Phil Tan (Rihanna) and Dave Pensado (Christina Aguilera). With her amazing young presence and alluring vibe, Lucy has become a popular new face on the L.A. scene. A classically trained pianist, she also received massive exposure as a backup singer on tour recently with Ashlee Simpson. As Lucy declares on her MySpace site, “Welcome all to my world. You’re here to feel alive, to be part of the most powerful thing on earth...music. Keep coming back, because this is just the beginning!” Source: M&C |
